Today is Martin Luther King Jr. day. Today is a national holiday, and all over the country people are engaging in special activities to commemorate the man who fought without violence for equality, who challenged us to battle the demons inside. Today is a day for celebration and reconciliation.

Daniela Cristina has her airplane ticket! She’s due in on Tuesday, January 22, around 3:00 pm — if all goes as scheduled.

We spoke with Daniela Cristina last night, and her mother the night before. The package arrived in Cuba on Friday and was delivered to the immigration office Monday morning. Daniela Cristina should be receiving her exit visa today. (They said that yesterday, but there’s always manana.) So keep your fingers crossed and your prayers going.
